Superheroes!

There are superheroes everywhere. They’re not Batman, or Wonder Woman, but they are everyday people making a difference in people’s lives.

The organizers of the Superhero Street Fair, which will happen on Sept. 22, created their event to recognize people and organizations in the Bayview neighborhood working to better their community.

The fair is really an awards show, a comic convention, a film festival and an art show in one — with a couple of other events sprinkled about it. All the events at the fair will be superhero themed. While most activities at the fair will be centered around fictitious heroes, the awards show will center around real superheroes. The award show organizers will recognize people or organizations that have inspired environmental action, spread social awareness, or changed things culturally in San Francisco.

The event will be held at Waterfront Boardwalk Oasis at 1700 Indiana St. To find out more about the fair, go to www.superherosf.com.
